Salary: £23,000 – £26,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The organisation provides religious services, educational programmes, and community support to members of the local Muslim community in Falkirk.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a qualified Imam / Religious Teacher to lead religious services, provide Islamic education, conduct marriages, funerals, and religious ceremonies, and support the spiritual and educational development of our community. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering religious guidance, teaching the Qur’an and Islamic studies, and supporting community outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the five daily prayers and Friday (Jumu’ah) congregational prayers.
- Deliver regular sermons and religious lectures.
- Teach Qur’an recitation, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to children and adults.
- Provide moral, ethical and spiritual guidance to members of the community.
- Conduct marriage ceremonies, funerals, and other religious services where required.
- Organise and participate in educational programmes and community events.
- Support youth development and religious education initiatives.
- Promote community cohesion and interfaith understanding.
Essential Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Islamic Studies, Sharia, or equivalent religious education.
- Excellent and flawless memorisation of the full Qur’an
- Demonstrated knowledge of Qur’an, Hadith, and Islamic jurisprudence.
- Ability to lead congregational prayers and deliver sermons.
- Experience teaching Qur’an and Islamic studies.
- Good communication and community engagement skills.
- Ability to speak English to an appropriate level.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Imam or religious teacher in a mosque or Islamic educational institution.
- Experience working with diverse communities and youth programmes.
